Just to Choose

There is no choice but not to look backwards

At the things that could have been

Because they couldn’t have

There is no choice but suffering back or forwards

Not to move is worse still

If I stay, I die a little each day

If I go, I lose you, I lose everything

An empty loneliness either way

You see, like you I have no choice

I have chosen for you

There is no relief.

Only the release of having chosen

And the possibility for a new beginning
